History of the Excellence in Teaching Award

Sonoma State University initiated the Excellence in Teaching Award in 1997. It has been generously funded through the years by the Sarlo Foundation, Wayne R. Rolands, Bernie and Estelle Goldstein and the President's office. Between the years 2009 - 2013, funding for only one award had been available. Beginning in the 2014 - 2015 year, two awards became available. These awards are now funded by the Office of the Provost.
