Windows

Resolution of the Academic Senate: Windows

Whereas, the faculty of Sonoma State University appreciates the willingness of the administration to leave windows unbolted so that we can benefit from allowing fresh air into our offices; and

Whereas, loss of air through open windows results in higher hearing costs in the winter and higher cooling costs in the summer; and

Whereas, in these times of fiscal stringency, we must all cooperate in containing expenditures; and

Whereas, it is incumbent upon us all to take whatever steps are in our power to save energy whenever possible; and

Whereas, security of campus buildings and equipment is compromised when window are left open at night; therefore be it

Resolved that the Academic Senate of Sonoma State University urge all faculty members to cooperate with the administration by closing and locking their windows when leaving their offices.
