Whereas an announcement of academic administrative allocations which indicates a merger of a number of departments and programs has been distributed, and
Whereas SSU has existing policy which requires that proposals for academic administrative reorganization be reviewed by the Structure and Functions Committee, and
Whereas the administration has in the recent past adhered to this policy;
Therefore be it -
Resolved that the Academic Senate calls upon the administration to submit its propsoal for academic administrative reorganization to the Structure and Functions Committee for review forthwith; and further be it
Resolved that the Academic Senate reaffirms its previous position calling upon the administration to utilize the department chairs positions generated by the budget fully for department chairs selected from among the faculty.
