Resolution on a Gender and Sexuality Campus Coordinator

Resolved, that the Academic Senate strongly urges Sonoma State University to create a three-year, renewable 50% release time position for a Gender and Sexuality Campus Coordinator.

Resolved, that the Academic Senate recommend the duties of the Gender and Sexuality Campus Coordinator to be: to manage gender and sexuality campus coordination and programming within the HUB and across campus; to support faculty in coordinating curricular attention to gender and sexuality with co-curricular programs and services; and to act as a resource and advocate for students, faculty or staff who are encountering gender- or sexuality-based discrimination or difficulty adapting to gender and sexuality roles on campus.

Resolved, that while an individual is being sought, that a temporary, part-time staff or faculty member be assigned no later than the Spring, 2014 semester to oversee gender and sexuality issues and programming.
